From cemetery records, Sep 2008: "Per Butte County Courthouse Records, page 98: Male, white,
married, age 33 years, 11 months, 26 days.
Newspaper article, 5 Nov 1891, Gridley Herald: "Tom McCRORY is looking pretty happy this week,
cause, a boy."
Also: "Got His Deed; Thomas McCRORY of this place, feels pretty good. It is not this weather
that has made him so happy. When the Examiner was running its free show through the State last
year, of long, medium, and short-horned cattle, horses, sheep, hogs, machinery of various
kinds, town lots, etc., he invested $150 in the weekly edition of that paper. It was a good
bait and it hooked up a town lot in Baker City, Oregon. It is estimated to be worth $1,000.
He got the deed for it Friday."
