From C. KENT: marriage license copy for William A. POTTER, over 21 years from Craig, Holt Co, MO and Louisa J. MARCUM, over 18 years from Craig, Holt Co, MO. H. DREIER gave name as "Billy POTTER" (from Halsey/Marcum family history).

William was listed as an heir in his father's Will, and was living in Lewiston, ID, during May and Nov 1889.

ID Death Certificate No. 50466: "William A. POTTER, married, born 20 Oct 1857, 67 years, 8 months, 25 days, born CA; father, William POTTER; mother, PARKER (born MO). Informant: William POTTER, Caldwell, ID. died at 6 p.m., heart trouble, so claimed by neighbors, no physician in attendance. Contributing: heat. Buried Canyon Hill Cemetery, 17 Aug 1925. Undertaker: Paul L. Case, Caldwell." (LDS film #1530843)

Phone call to cemetery on 17 Feb 2003: I was told that Billy is buried in Block 2, lot 37, space 30. This is "Potter's Field" area and is located across from mausoleum. A Samuel W. POTTER also died in 1925, any connection?

(I believe these must be foster children, since the 1910 Census doesn't show any children in the household. In addition, Louisa would have been 58 years of age at the birth of the last child. I have found no further record of these four children.)

Holt Co, MO marriage license gives the bride's name as "Louisa J. MARCUM", of Holt Co, MO.

Louise POTTER married James Earl Heathco on 5 Jun 1937, Cascade, Valley, ID. Volume 1, page 542, Certificate No. 67310. (Is she ours?)
