Obituary: "MONTAGUE SAWYER TAKEN BY DEATH: William R. HALSEY passed away suddenly Friday afternoon in the Siskiyou County General Hospital at the age of 55. He had been admitted to the hospital only a short time before as a result of a heart attack suffered at his home in Montague Friday morning. Mr. HALSEY, a sawyer for the Penberthy Mill, had resided in Montague since 1952 and formerly had lived in Weed for many years. He was born in OR on April 9, 1901 and is survived by his wife, Marie, and 2 sons, William C. and Richard D. HALSEY of Cottonwood, and 3 sisters in OR. Funeral services will be held in Girdner's Funeral Chapel Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 with the Reverend Edward V. Hargreaves of the Montague Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery"
