Eli was listed as farmer in 1912 and 1914 at time of children's births. He was living in Lyonsville, May 1912. He had lived in Red Bluff 84 years at time of his death. (from death records, Tehama Co Court House.)

From Elwood HALSEY: Eli worked for Ben MARCUM (who was older) near the turn of the century. Eli had a cousin, William, in TX who died when Eli was a little boy. Eli thought Admiral HALSEY was a cousin, also. They were close in age.
