1820 CENSUS, Fleming Co, KY: Samuel COBB, Sr. and Samuel COBB, Jr. are both listed. 1830 CENSUS, Upper Loutre, Montgomery, MO: Samuel is listed as a male 60-70 years, living with son, Adam COBB, and his family. Samuel lived in Augusta Co, VA until 1776, when he moved to the Cheat River area (now Randolph Co.). He was there for a year, then moved to Mongahala Co; then, on to Fleming Co, KY. He remained in Fleming Co. about 22 years and finally went to Montgomery Co, MO about 1825. Samuel and his sons, Phillip, Samuel II, and Adam started the community known as Cobbtown. Also there were the PEVELER and SAILOR families. Samuel served in the Revolutionary War for 9 months and filed for a pension in May 1833 in Montgomery Co, MO. 1830 CENSUS, Upper Loutre, Montgomery, MO: Magdalena is listed as a female 50-60, living with her husband, Samuel COBB, in their son, Adam's household. RootsWeb.com: some reserchers believe that Magdalene was first married to Jonathan MENIER (MANIER) and had 3 children (John, Jonathan, Mary Ann.) Jonathan MENIER was supposedly killed in 1783. Dec 2007: Debbie Smith informed me that "the PEEBLER/PEVELER family are descendants of Friedrich BIBLER, born in Baden in the 1730's". He married a Maria. She has copies of German baptisms for Friedrich and his siblings, copies of marriages for four of the family (including Friedrich), and copies of baptisms for two of Fred's children: Magdalena and Peter BIBLER. Descendants of Fred's brother, Frantz, kept the name "BIBLER". Christian's (Frantz's son) descendants use the names "PEEVLER" and "PEAVLER". Samuel and Magdalena had the following children:
