1890 CA Voters' Registration: Robert Lee McCRORY, 25 years, born MO, laborer, living in Gridley.

The Gridley Herald, Wednesday, July 28, 1926: "R. L. McCRORY Called By Death July 25; Robert Lee McCRORY, a resident of Gridley for more than 30 years, died at Marysville, Sunday, July 25, 1926, following an illness of several years. He was 61 years, 10 months and 8 days old. The deceased, a native of MO, was an employee of the late C. H. Block for 30 years. For a time he was janitor of the local McKinley and upon removing to Marysville he was janitor of the Marysville High School for 4 years, ill health forcing his resignation.
He was a charter member of the local Moose lodge, and was affiliated with the Modern Woodmen, the Odd Fellows, the Foresters and the Royal Neighbors.
He is survived by a son, Elmer L. McCRORY, and a sister, Mary E. LAUX, of Santa Cruz.
Funeral Services will be held this afternoon, the Block Funeral Home being in charge. The services will be held from the local United Brethren Church, Reverend Shull officiating. Interment will be made in the Gridley Cemetery. Mrs. W. H. Block will sing several selections." (Page 1, Column 6)

Cemetery visit, September 2008: "Robert died at 61 years, 10 months, 2 days of age from Hemiplegis (left). He was retired, and the physician who attended him was John A. Duncan. The informant listed on his death certificate was C. E. Ashburn. (Robert is buried in the Gridley-Biggs Cemetery, Section 2, Block 1, Lot 172, Space 5, along with his parents and a brother. Listed as being buried in Space 6 is "Izelia McCRORY", no other information given. Who is she?)

Surname given as "CRUG" on Elmer's death record. However, since Louis CRUSE was Elmer's grandmother, I believe that her daughter, Minnie CRUSE, was his mother.
