John Baker's cabin, built about 1797, on the Baker Farm on Pond Creek Road, in Campbell County, Kentucky

This was called a Saddlebag house. The kitchen and parents' bedroom were on one side, the boys were on the other side and the girls upstairs. The middle was open with a gate on each side. The livestock was put inside at night to protect them from Indiana.
