John Baker's
cabin, built about 1797, on the Baker Farm on Pond Creek Road, in Campbell
County, Kentucky
This was called a Saddlebag house. The kitchen
and parents' bedroom were on one side, the boys were on the other side and the
girls upstairs. The middle was open with a gate on each side. The livestock was
put inside at night to protect them from Indiana.

fireplace
These pictures were taken many years ago. The house has
since been torn down.
