GEORGE BAKER  (WILLIAM⁴, JOHN³, JOHN², UNKNOWN¹) was born April 10, 1817 in Pendleton Co. Kentucky, the son of William and Sarah (Castator) Baker. 

With his parents, he moved to Shelby County, Indiana in 1831. He married ELIZABETH HOLLIS August 23, 1838 in Shelby Co. Indiana, daughter of ELI HOLLIS and ELIZABETH COLLISION.  She was born 1821 in Sussex County,  Delaware and died January 20, 1894 in Kingsville, Johnson Co., Missouri (Bluff Spring Cemetery). In  the fall of 1850, George and family went to Page County, Iowa. He prospered there and at one time owned the hotel in Clarinda.

In the fall of 1869, George moved again, this time to Kingsville, Johnson County, Missouri. George died March 17, 1884 in Kingsville, Johnson Co., Missouri. 

Land records in Page Co. Iowa show the following land transactions for George Baker. He filed on "Original" land in 1853 near Hawleyville. Other transactions were:

George also owned the Clarinda Hotel in Clarinda, IA, according to " The History Of Page County Iowa". 

The family moved to Kingsville, Mo. in 1869. George bought land from William Lee. He and Eliza lived the rest of their lives on that farm and are both buried in nearby Bluff Spring Cemetery.
