WILLIAM BAKER
WABASH CO., INDIANA
1862
Last Will and Testament of
William Baker, Dec’d.
Be it ---- that on the
28th day of October 1862 the following will was filed to
wit.
In the name of God Amen I
William Baker of the county of Wabash and state of Indiana being sick and weak
of body but of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding considering
the certainty of death and the uncertainty of the time thereof, to the end that
I may be the better prepared, I leave this world when I shall please my God to
call me hence. Having determined to direct what disposition shall be made of my
property after my decease, and after maturely considering the circumstances and
condition of all those among, as my heir at law, or the object of my gratitude,
on affection, in my judgement my estate should be distributed, I do make,
publish and declare this to be my last will and testament hereby revoking all
former last wills and testaments, and writings in the nature of last wills and
testaments by me heretofore made.
My will is that only my body be
decently buried, and that my funeral expenses and my just debts be paid by my
exectutor herinafter named, and my exectutor herinafter named shall sell and
dispose of (if necessary) so much of the property Real or Personal, or both,
that I shall name, as shall be required to discharge the said expenses and out
-------- herin required, and, I give him complete power and authority so to do,
and to execute and deliver deeds, for the conveyance, hereof and out of the net
arails of my estate that shall remain in the hands of my said exectutor after
paying my just debts and funeral expenses.
I give and bequeath to my son
Abraham H. Baker of Cincinnati Ohio one
dollar.
I give and bequeath to my
daughter Rachel Collins, wife of Dawes Collins of Miami County Indiana, one
dollar.
I give and bequeath to my son
David Baker of Wabash County Indiana one
dollar.
I give and bequeath to my son
William Baker of Miami county Indiana one
dollar.
I give and bequeath to my son
Nathan Baker of Miami County Indiana one
dollar.
I give and bequeath to my son
Peter Baker of (blank) one dollar.
I give and bequeath to my
daughter Martha Jane Burns wife of Gilford Burns of Miami County Indiana one
dollar.
I give to my son Jehu Baker
of (blank) County Ohio one
dollar.
