Generation

1. JOHN
(JR.)3
BAKER
(JOHN2,
UNKNOWN1) was born Abt.
1767, and died April 18, 1822 in Campbell Co., Kentucky. He married (1) Unknown, (2)
SUSANNAH GATTON August 28, 1816 in Pendleton County,
Kentucky, daughter of THOMAS GATTON. She was born Abt. 1794 in Maryland, and
died December 07, 1875 in Floyd Twp., Putnam County, Indiana. She married (2) Nicholas
Connett.
Notes for JOHN
(JR.)
BAKER:
JOHN BAKER, born ca 1767 was
in Pendleton Co., Kentucky as early as 1799. According to tax and census
records, he probably had four sons and four daughters by his first wife, and
probably 2 sons by his second wife.
John's farm was on Harris Creek, near the Licking River, near the Campbell Co.
line, next to the Bonar family and near Peter Castator. According to tax
records, John lived in Pendleton from 1795 thru 1812, then moved to
Campbell.
______________________________________________
The following were probably the children
of John Baker of Pendleton Co.
My reasons are given
below.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JOHN BAKER, who married Sally Bell (or
Beal) 11 May 1814 in Campbell
Co.
(This is probably John, Jr.,
the grandson mentioned in the will of John of
Campbell)
WILLIAM BAKER , who married Sarah
Castator ca. 1816 (where?) ( this
one is mine)
I matched a
descendant of John and Mary's son, Samuel in a DNA Test. This proves
William.
(He was next to John and Polly (Baker) Bonar in 1830 on the census. Wilson Crail posted bond
for the John Baker /Susannah Gatton marriage and he is near
William in 1820.)
MARY (POLLY) BAKER , who married John
Bonar 23 Oct. 1817 in Pendleton Co.
(John Baker posted the
bond, and David, son of John Sr., took custody of their
children after both
died)
DAVID BAKER, who Married Elizabeth Spencer 27 Sept.
1819 in Campbell Co.
(John Baker posted the
bond )
MARGARET BAKER, who married William
Jenner 7 Jan. 1830 in Campbell Co.
(being an orphan, her uncle James Baker gave consent, no other James fits
except the son of
John of Campbell, and he had no dead brother that fits, unless John of Pendleton was his
brother)
