The earliest available N.Z. electoral roll is that for 1865/66. In the electorate which also covered Howick Village Caroline's husband Thomas Rogers appeared in Otahuhu as leasing a "house" known as the Commercial Hotel. Although he had likely moved he remained listed there until after the 1875 electoral redistribution, from when he was listed as a "farmer" and the occupant of a freehold farm of 111 acres at Papatoitoi in the same electorate. Following the 1881 redistribution this electorate became Franklin North, and thereafter until the last checked electoral roll for 1890, he remained listed at Papatoitoi but as a farmer in Manurewa on lots 39 & 40 comprising 201 acres in what was then named the Manahau electorate.Children of Caroline Garmonsway and Thomas Rogers were: 2
