This work contains information, currently available to me, regarding the descendants of Silas Parfitt (ca 1767-1850) and Ann Barber (ca 1785- aft 1861). Both were born and died in England. For several generations, family members worked as stone and/or coal miners in England and the US. Many of their descendants are still living in England.
A son Silas and a number of grandchildren, along with their families, emigrated to the United States in the second half of the nineteenth century and settled in the coal mining areas of Pennsylvania. By 1900, many of those who had worked in the Pennsylvania coal mines sought other employment and migrated to Colorado, Illinois, Ohio, New Jersey and other places in the US. My direct line came to New Jersey where most have lived for the past one hundred years.
In the future I hope to pursue the descendants of Silas Parfitt and Ann Barber further and will update this page when significant additions are developed.
