John Thomas⁵ YATES (Mercy⁴ PARFITT, Silas³, Silas², Silas¹) was born in Mahanoy City, Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania December 26, 1877.⁽²⁴⁹⁾ John died January 26, 1958 at Highland Convalescent Home in Ottawa, La Salle County, Illinois at 80 years of age. He was interred January 29, 1958 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, in La Salle, La Salle County, Illinois.

He married Mamie MENNEM October 5, 1903 in Ottawa, La Salle County, Illinois.⁽²⁵⁰⁾ Mamie was born June 8, 1882 in Oglesby, La Salle County, Illinois. Mamie was the daughter of Henry MENNEM and Margaret PRICE. Mamie died January 13, 1945 at Saint Mary's Hospital in La Salle, La Salle County, Illinois at 62 years of age.⁽²⁵¹⁾ She was interred January 17, 1945 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, in La Salle, La Salle County, Illinois.

John Thomas YATES and Mamie MENNEM had the following children:

Clifford Henry YATES was born in Oglesby, La Salle County, Illinois August 5, 1915.⁽²⁵²⁾ Clifford died September 30, 1991 at Care Inn Nursing Home in La Salle, La Salle County, Illinois at 76 years of age.⁽²⁵³⁾ He was interred October 3, 1991 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, in La Salle, La Salle County, Illinois.⁽²⁵⁴⁾ He married Eleanor E. MARTYN August 5, 1939 in Clinton, Clinton Co., Iowa.⁽²⁵⁵⁾ Eleanor was born March 25, 1914 in Piety Hill, La Salle County, Illinois.⁽²⁵⁶⁾ Eleanor was the daughter of Howard MARTYN and Emma MEYERS. Eleanor died October 28, 1992 at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Peoria County, Illinois at 78 years of age.⁽²⁵⁷⁾ She was interred October 31, 1992 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, in La Salle, La Salle County, Illinois.⁽²⁵⁸⁾
