First Generation

1. John MULLIS ^{1, 2, 3} was born ⁴ about 1793 in GA. He died after Dec 1875 in NE (prob).

His antecedents are unknown, but based on census records it is likely his family resided only briefly in Georgia. He had strong religious connections to the Dryden and Zook families, and the three families together with several others begin a pilgrimage of sorts that started in North-Central Kentucky in the 1820's, moved through Indiana and Missouri in the 1830's ,1840's and 1850's and ended in Nemaha county Nebraska in the 1870's. John Mullis was a minister and farmer. The Mullis, Dryden, and Zook families were religiously affiliated with the Baptist and Christian Churches.

John married Elizabeth CASTLEBERRY ¹. Elizabeth was born ² in 1797 in SC. She died in 1860/1870 in NE (prob).
