According to his Daughter Callie Beach McClure, Charles Beach was the youngest of six children of Morton and Julia Beach. Charles named his youngest daughter after his sister, Callie. He was married first to Sara Osborn and they had two children, a son, Ira and another who died in infancy. Sara was stricken with tuberculosis and was an invalid for about two years. Charles hired a housekeeper and
nurse to care for his wife and small child, Clyde Collins Jimison, a divorcee with a small daughter. After Sara's death, Charles married Clyde. They had 10 children.
