Jonathan Via & Catherine O'Buck

Know all men by these presents that we Jonathan Via + Peter OBuck jr are held firmly bound unto James Monroe Governor or chief magistrate of the Commonwealth of Virginia in the sum of one hundred and fifty dollars current money of Virginia to be paid to the said Monroe + to his successors in office for the use of the Commonwealth for the time being to which payment well and truly to be made we bind ourselves jointly and severally and each of our joint and several heirs exors + admors firmly by these presents sealed with our seals + dated this 11th day of August 1801.

The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage intended to be had + solemnized between the above bound Jonathan Via + Catherine OBuck now if there is no lawful cause or impediment to obstruct the said marriage then the above obligation to be void or else remain in full force + virtue.

This day Peter Obuck jr personally appeared before me a Justice of the peace in the said county and made oath that Catherine Obuck of this county is of the age of Twenty one years or upwards Given under my hand this 11th day of August 1801.
