David Graham's
History of the Graham Family (1899 and 1982)

In 1899, David Graham, a grandson of Colonel James Graham (who built the Graham House in present-day Summers County, WV), wrote a history of the Graham family as he understood it. He relied on the memories of relatives, and on court and civil records. A reprint of 200 copies of this book was issued in 1966. Both editions are nearly impossible to find.

In 1982, William L. Graham of St. Albans, WV, reissued the book in an 8 1/2 x 11 inch 3-hole-punch format. In addition to providing a transcript of the full text of David Graham's book, William Graham also provided family group worksheets that summarize the information in David Graham's book. Other genealogists were invited to submit their family group sheets, and the book ended up being 859 pages long.

The Graham House Preservation Society can provide you with a copy of this book. Please send $16 plus postage ($4 for addresses in the United States) to:
