The Trial of James Graham

20 November 1854
James Graham charged with murder was led to the bar in custody of the Jailor of this County + thereof arraigned; and the Court not having time to go through with all the evidence his trial is adjourned until tomorrow morning until 9 O'Clock. And the prisoner is remanded to Jail.

James Graham charged with murder was again led [to] the bar in custody of the Jailor of this County, the evidence and arguments of Cousel being fully heard, it is the opinion of this Court that he should be tried before the Circuit Court of this County for the offense aforesaid, he is thereupon remanded to jail.

John Noland, Florence Noland, Rebecca M. Miller, Mary [E?], Virginia Bragg, Moses Taylor, John Fisher, Robert Hars [sp?], James Newman Graham, James Ellis, James Ayres, La[nty] Graham, Thomas McCarty, James A. Ellis, James E. Miller, Augustus Eads, William Bryant and Jesse Jones severa[lly] acknowledged themselves to be indebted to the Commonwealth in the sum of $500 each, to be levlied of their respective goods and chattels lands and tenements + to the Commowealth rendered Yet upon this Condition that they severally appear before the Judge of the Circuit Court of this County at the Court House thereof on the 4th day od December next to give evidence in behalf of the Commonwealth against James Graham charged with murder, and shall not depart thence without the leave of said Court then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force and virtue.
