1. JAMES1 JORDAN was born March 29, 1722 in NC, and died Bef. January 28, 1786 in Wake Co, NC. He married ELIZABETH LILES Abt. 1749, daughter of HENRY LILES and UNKNOWN. She was born March 06, 1727/28 in NC.

Arithmetic Book, Genealogical notes for Jordan and Liles families, N. C. State Archives, Raleigh, N. C., 1692-1812, Call Number PC.1669.1, donated be Luther C. Liles.

This very old book apparently started as an school arithmetic workbook for James Jordan c. 1722 and later served to keep household records and genealogical information and to serve as a scratch pad for James’ son Amos. The following information came from that book. The other information in this report other than the Wills came from Liles Family WFT trees on Ancestery.com

Son William Jordan: 250 a. on W. side of Buffelow Creek joining Josiah Nichols' line. Son Amos Jordan: about 290 a. on east side of Buffelow Creek to Warren Alford's line. Son Elias Jordan: 250 a. including the land whereon I now live. Son James Jordan: feathers for a bed. Son William Jordan: copper still. Son Henry Jordan: 5 S. Daughter Mary Wilder: 5 S. Daughter Selah Lewis: 5 S. Daughter Edey Eddins: 5 S. Sons Liles, Reubin

William, Lias: feather bed. Grandson Levi Jordan: stock. Wife Elisabeth Jordan: 90 a. part of that tract of landdivided to Amos Jordan joining Samuel Horton, and the plantation whereon I now live; livestock; household goods for her widowhood. Son James Jordan: stock. 8 Jan 1785.

The book, Heritage of Wake Co., NC, article 486 Written by Luther Calvin Liles, Jr. states that Wrightman Liles married Nancy Jordan, daughter of Amos and Sarrey Jordan. The Luther C. Liles, Jr. Paper, arithmetic book containing Wake family notes. The notes covers James Jordan c. 1722 and his family and also a family of 8 children is listed but not identified. The article above identifies it as Amos Jordan's family and the youngest member of that family was Nancy Jordan who married Wrightman Liles.
