The earliest known JORDAN family member, John W. Jordan, was born in Alabama abt. 1860, m.27 Dec. 1885 Beda A. Pennington in Lamar Co., AL. They migrated into Arkansas in the late 1800's or early 1900's where much of the family is still located.
The earliest known LESLIE, David, was born in Indiana in 1829, was on the 1850 census in Warren co., IN married to Hannah Reeve and living with a Powell Reeve and his family. Hanna Leslie was living in Fort Scott, Bourbon Co., KS in 1870 Federal Census. David's sons, U.S. and Sam, were in Kansas and Daughter Annie Clevenger was in California in 1934. U.S. Leslie obituary states that he lived in Fort Scott, Bourbon co., KS for some time at his death in 1934.
