Mrs. T. H. Flood Dead
Mrs Laura Flood, wife of T. H. Flood of this city, passed away Wednesday morning about 10'30
o'clock, after a short illness due to asthma.
The deceased was the daughter of Uncle George Morgan, who was buried November 12, at the age of
91 years.
Deceased leaves a husband, seven children, six of whom are married, as follows: Mrs Harry Leslie of
Fort Scott, Kansas: Lee Flood, Harry Flood, Morgan Flood and Mrs. Donald Robinson, all of this city:
Robert Flood of south of town, and Miss Othel Flood of the home.
The funeral was conducted by Rev. M. P. Smotherman of Teresita at the Methodist church Thursday
afternoon and the remains were interred in the city cemetery.
The relatives and friends have the sympathy of all in their loss.

Mrs. Laura Flood of Mtn. View Dies
Mrs. T. H. Flood of Mountain View died last week at her home in Mtn. View after a short illness.
She was a daughter of George Morgan, who died only a short time ago, and was a sister of James Morgan
of West Plains.
She is survived by her husband and by seven children, Lee Flood, Harry Flood, Morgan Flood, Robert
Flood, Miss Othel Flood and Mrs. Donald Robison, all residents of Mountain View adn by Mrs. Harry
Leslie of Fort Scott, Kansas.
The funeral was conducted by the Rev. M. P. Smotherman of Teresita at the Methodist Church and
burial was in the Mountain View cemetery.

Obituary
Laura Alice Morgan was born August 29, 1869, in Decatur County, Tennessee. She came to Howell
County, Mo. with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Morgan, in 1871, and here she grew to womanhood.
She died at her home in this city Wednesday forenoon, November 19, at the age of 61 years three months
and twenty-one days.
On March 29, 1891, she was united in marriage to Thomas H. Flood, who still survives her. To this
union were born seven children, four sons and three daughters, Lee Flood of Mountain View; Mrs. Harry
Leslie, Fort Scott, Kan.; Harry, Othel, Robert and Morgan Flood and Mrs. Donald Robinson, all of
Mountain View.
She was converted to the Christian faith and joined the Methodist church at Walker Chapel on
September 2 1888, and remained a member of that body as long as she lived, having lived a consistent
Christian life until death called.
Besides her husband and children deceased leaves nine grandchildren, four brothers, five sisters and a
host of other relatives and friends by whom she is sadly missed.

Georgia Ann Leslie
Georgia Ann Leslie, 97, formerly of Fort Scott, died Sunday, Nov. 18, 1990, at Hillhaven Nursing
Home, Topeka. She was born June 19, 1893, at Mountainview, MO., the daughter of Thomas and Laura
Morgan Flood. She married Harry Leslie. He died in 1966. Mrs. Leslie was a member of the first United
Methodist Church, Fort Scott.
Survivors include a sister, Othel Endriss, Independence, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and eight
grandchildren. Mrs. Milton (Hazel) Leslie, Wichita, is a daughter-in-law. Mrs. Leslie was preceded in
death by two sons.
Grave side services will be at 1 P.M. Tuesday in Memory Gardens of Bourbon County.
Visitation at the Cheney Witt Memorial Chapel will begin at 12 noon preceding the service.
