Douglas Aloisious Penn was born in Rangoon, Burma but as far as we know lived most of his young life in Mandalay. His family name Penn must derive from either Cornish or Irish descent. He joined the British Army (India) during WW2 and became a medic in the Medical Corps. He married "Rita" in 1945. They lived in various parts of India until seetling in Pondicherry, South India around 1960 or so.
In 1984 he came to Wales to spend the rest of his days with his family.
