Haplogroup I
-The I, I1, and I1a lineages are nearly completely restricted to northwestern Europe. These would most likely have been common
within Viking populations. One lineage of this group extends down into central Europe. Haplogroup I dates to 23,000 years ago or longer.
Lineages not in branches I1a, I1b or I1c are found distributed at low frequency
throughout Europe Group White Oak http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~hjohnson/haplogroup.i.html#Group_White_Oak

E3a - Haplogroup E3a is an Africa lineage.
It is currently hypothesized that this haplogroup dispersed south from northern Africa within the last 3,000 years, by the Bantu
agricultural expansion. E3a is also the most common lineage among African Americans
My Notes On This
Group: The Roman Empire was the first to use troops all over the world they
left blood groups ever where they went from Countries of Africa to England: The
Roman Empire was one of the VAST spreading Empires in the World to first use
troops of other Countries it conquered. The use of using other troops from
Conquered Countries spread with each developing Empire.

County lines and Parish Lines: These lines can and will change people in a
County or in a Parish. This is to serve as a Time line to show changes, in
lines or in changes where families moved to from this area.
Notes: Some Quaker dates have
been translated Before the 1752 calendar change, the first month of the
year was March. The correct date is inserted
before the quoted excerpts below. From: Mary E. Stewart
In 1752 the new
year began to be counted from Jan 1. Before that it ran from March 26-March 25,
Julian Calender changed. So a date in July 1750 would be earlier in the
same "year" as one in Feb 1750 (which once 1752 rolled around, would
be thought of as the next year). From: Barbara Schenck

close of the service year 1780. Joined General Sumpter whilst with him was in
the Battle of Black Stocks on the Tyger (River) in S.C. in which Sumpter
was wounded by a ball, I think it was in the right shoulder, this Battle with
General Tarleton of the British, at the time of this Patrick Carr was his

Battle of The Cowpens after that retreated. This Battle he thinks was fought on

1765 June 6, Similar conditions prevailed in Granville County. George Sims of Nutbush, Granville County, on , issued his famous "Nutbush
Address," in which he set forth in graphic language, "the most
notorious and intolerable abuses" which had crept into the public service
in that county. It was not, he said, the "form of government, nor yet the
body of our laws, that we are quarreling with, but with the malpractices of the
Officers of our County Courts, and the abuses which we suffer by those
empowered to manage our public affairs." Extortionate fees and oppressive
methods of collecting fees and taxes formed the burden of his complaint. He
called upon the people to meet for a discussion of reform, but the only result
of his appeal was a petition to the assembly for redress of grievances which
was stillborn. http://www.rootsweb.com/~ncalaman/battleofalamance.html

Catherine Pettiford, born about 1757, was living in Mecklenburg County, Virginia, on 14 June 1784 when the court ordered the churchwardens to bind out her sons Byrd and Anderson Pettiford. On 12 June 1786 the court bound out her seven children, called "Bastards of Caty Peteford," as apprentices to Caleb Johnson. They complained to the court on 13 July 1795 that Johnson was mistreating them, but the case was discontinued for want of prosecution on 11 April 1796 [Orders 1784-87, 51, 524; 1792-5, 474; 1795-8, 57]. She registered in Petersburg on 23 May 1812: a light brown Mulatto woman, five feet eleven and a half inches high, fifty five years old, born free & raised in Mecklenburg County [Register of Free Negroes 1794-1819, no. 704].
Boling Pettiford, born say 1775, bound apprentice to Caleb Johnson in Mecklenburg County on 12 June 1786. He ran away from Johnson in 1797 and, with the help of his uncle Benjamin Bass, found work driving a wagon for William Hester of Granville County for $5 a month. In September 1801 Johnson sued for his return, and Hester offered to pay for the remainder of his apprenticeship [LVA, Mecklenburg County chancery case 1804-001]. http://www.freeafricanamericans.com/Pettiford_Ridley.htm

another James Johnson mar. Sarah Cox Sept 12

was living in Prince George County in 1738 when he obtained a certificate for
wolves killed. Beginning in 1743, John
and his wife began to buy and sell land in what is today Mecklenburg County.
John bought 130 acres on the south side of the Roanoke River 7 March 1747/8
from James Mitchell, and secured
patents to 180 acres on the south side of the Roanoke River 1 June 1750, and 400 acres on Nutbush Creek and
the county line 12 July 1750. John
and Mary sold their 180-acre patent to John Johnston in July 1752.
John and his sons appeared in the 1749-52
Lunenburg County tithe lists. Edward
and Robert were living with their father and the others were on their own. http://www.virginians.com/redirect.htm?topics&1600
1760 July 15 John Johnson
has the most references of all the Johnsons. He is listed in the patent book
34, page 583 for 404 acres on Nutbush Creek adjoining John Robinson ( july 15 1760). This is the same John
Johnson that appears with the Christopher Johnson on the tithabable list of 1752 with Christopher Johnson.
The 1764 tithable list has John with 180 acres of tithables. He is listed with Michael Johnson on the List. A John Johnson appears on the
tithable list for 1764 that is seperat from the other list for that year with
200 acres. Not clear if this is the same John Johnson. Rotsweb.com Mecklenburg

SUB NOTES:
Cousins
Greetings:
I am wondering if any of you might have in
you OLD E-Mail addresses an addy for One Toby Turner: He authored a report on Terisha Turner the
Ancient and its generations after him. Also the Researcher on Charles Johnston
who was in Humphreys Co in 1812 ( Peg had contact with him)
Terisha
Turner was on Rockfish Creek of Albemarle County and this area became Amherst
Co: ( Same area as SURNAME of Hooper's, Hatchers, Johnson, Shropshire,
Murrell's, Thornton's and Allied Hatcher Families see reports on Rockfish
Creek)
Several
Things are sticking out in Toby's report they are on the Rockfish River area
On August
14 1750 James Ireland sold to Terisha Turner 147 acres N.Fork Green river for
L13-7-6: Christopher Anthony Patents 20 Aug 1748 ( Albemarle Co Deed Book 1
pages 220-221) He ( Terisha Turner) Lived in Albemarle County in Oct 1751 when
he and his wife Sarah sold to Michael ROWLAND of Cumberland Co: the same 200
acres at the Heads of Deep Run a branch of Muddy Creek adjoining William
Ferriss and Nicholas Davis ( Cumberland Co. Dee Book 1 page 442)
Notes:
Rowland Chiles Blackmore Hughes ( hues) lived beside William Johnson on Buffalo
Creek, and Hudson Johnson-Johnston lived with him in one Tithable Year of
1778-1780 how does Michael Rowland Connect back to Henry Chiles married to a ?
Rowland Female ( This is the Family of Walter Chiles Ship owner in 1650 era of
Jamestown) AS we now have Off Spring of Walter Chiles in the St. Peters or St.
Paul's Parish living next to Michael Holland ( era of 1730)
Terry
Turner patented 400 acres paying L2 in Albemarle County on the North side of
and adjoining Rockfish River near the river bank at a broad Rock on the side of
a Mountain adjacent to John Burns Sr. and Jr. on Sept.. 1755 in Patent Book 31
pg 687: Source Cav and Pioneers: Abstract of Virginia Land Patents and Grants
Vol Vl 1749-1762 by Nell Nugent page 1141.
In
Amherst Deed Book B page 75 John Dunn paid him ( Terry Turner) L3 for 100 acres
on Sept 16 1765.In the Amherst Deed Book Page 54: John Lyons purchased 100
acres for L36 on Sept. 24 1765 from Terisha Turner said to be of Albemarle Co:
In the
Albemarle Deed Book # 4, pages 426-427 Terisha Turner of Amherst is shown to
have sold 147 acres for L30 to John Moore of Albemarle Co:
On Oct 5
1770 Terisha Turner of the parish and county of
Amherst Co paid L 155.o to John Scott and Margaret ( Fry) his wife
for 1557 acres on the branches of Parroge (sic) Creek.
Notes a
John Scott is connected descendants of Michael Johnson as their attorney and a
John Scott is married to Sarah Mayo off the Mayo Lines in Dickson and
Humphrey's County
Terisha Turner and his wife Sarah sold the Hardware River Tract to Peter Cheatham in 1777, At that time he was described as a Citizen of Amherst Co: He was also the owner of several hundred acres on Briery Ford of Green Creek, which in 1790 he sold for the most part to Benjamin Harris:
Notes:
Which one of Mine and Pegs Cheatham Lines is this?
Old
Terisha died owning several thousand acres, not only in Virginia but in North
Carolina as well: He called himself "ANCIENT" in his will written May
7 1793 and proved April 19 1802 ( Amherst Will Book 4:34)
Now what
is interesting is Several of Terisha Turners Children and Grandchildren
Marriages some are in Warren County NC ( Formed from Granville and Butte
Counties)
Stephen
Reuben Turner who died before his Father in 1799 Warren Co. NC This is the
Father of Susannah Turner married to Terisha Johnston who died aft 1840 in
Henderson Co. Tn: Also of Note is the Hamner's are related to Col William Eaton
of Mecklenburg Co and to the Rives- Reeves Families
James
Turner the Brother of Stephen Reuben Turner bon CA 1735 died 1806 in Amherst
County was married to Rebecca Hamner daughter of William Hamner and Mary Henley
: This is also a connection to Len Henley in Goochland Co. Deeds who lives by ?
Johnson. What is interesting is Rebecca Hamner was born 1765 in St. Anne's Parish Albemarle County:
1744 March 15: Leonard Henley: Goochland Co: 30 acres on the
Branches of Tuckahoe Creek: Land Office Patents @ 22 1743-1745 vol 1 & 2:
pg 220 on reel 20: Library of Virginia Archives section.
Notes this is Grandfather of Len Henley Johnson off Lines of
Terisha Johnston of Mecklenburg and Warren Co NC of Nutbush Creek:
Also on
James Turner brother of Stephen Reuben Turner in his ( James Turner ) died 1806
will he leaves the Rockfish River property to his Son Terisha Turner
Now to a
Grandchild Marriage Nancy Turner mar John Thurmond bef. 1816 the Thurmond Name
is a Connector to the DNA off Michael Johnson died 1718 on Tuckahoe Creek:
Benjamin Thurman married a ? JOHNSON
off lines of Michael Johnson:
Now to
Toby's notes on Stephen Reuben Turner: married to Susannah Hamner Oct 9, 1764
daughter of William Hamner and Elizabeth Henley (Hendley) in 1799 Warren County
this will is signed by Tho. C. Hillard, Daniel Johnson, Anderson Tucker (
Tucker is bhm) : Toby indicated Stephen was on Totier Creek in Albemarle County
before he moved to Amherst Co: So he moved with his father onto properties on
Rockfish River: ( My Notes)
What I
find Interesting is Children of Stephen Turner ( Col McDaniel's Cousin Lines)
James
Turner married Molley Allen Jan 14, 1799 in Warren Co. NC
Elizabeth
Turner b Feb 1, 1775 married ROWLAND THORNTON Dec 18 1797 in Warren Co. NC: My
Notes: HOW DOES THIS CONNECT TO Charles Johnston whose wife Sarah Eaton was
first married to John Thornton and had children by him: Now Remember the
Thornton's married to this are off Francis Thornton whose relatives are
intermarried with the families of George Washington
Sarah (
Sally) Turner b March 27 1781 married Moses Thornton Dec 23 1800: again how
does this connect back to John Thornton who also owned lands on Rockfish River
in what was Goochland Co to Albemarle County to Amherst Co then he goes into
Prince George Co- which becomes Brunswick County. He died in what was then
Butte County with lands next to Charles Johnson ( also of Granville Co) this
whole area ends up in Warren County which is just below Mecklenburg County.
