FOOTNOTES
1 From letter of Gertrude N. Brick to William D. Johnson Jr., referencing NJ Archives Wills Abstracts. We assume that her #7 reference is Rand's ancestor since (i) the names of the 3 grandchildren match 3 of the names listed in the Family Bible as the children of Stevin Ford, and (ii) the will was witnessed by Vanroom Robbins, husband of Tabitha (Ford). Further confirmed by Abstract of Will of Thomas Ford.
3 Maiden name--Borden--recorded at LDS but given a number of discrepancies, may not be the same Stephen Ford but rather the son of Thomas Ford and Tabitha Allen. Another citation: “…Stephen Ford m. Lydia Borden (b. 1742)…Stephen Ford served as a private in Burlington County, New Jersey militia. He was born, 1738, in Middlesex County, N. J.” The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution Volume88: Miss Isabel Hudnut. DAR ID Number: 87902
