• SC/GA/AL Map Showing 1800-1900 "Ashley Counties". Did I miss any? Note: Abbeville SC in 1820 also contained half of presentday Greenwood and McCormick Counties. Benton (later Calhoun) AL in 1850 contained most of presentday Cleburne and a portion of presentday Etowah Co. AL. Greene Co. AL in 1850 included most of presentday Hale Co. and a portion of presentday Pickens Co.

  Wm. ASHLEY the only ASHLEY listed in 1830.
  Delila ASHLEY shown as head of household in 1840.
  A Samuel ASHLEY age 20-30 shown living elsewhere (not near Delila) in 1840. This is likely her son Samuel S. (who would have been 25), but it is puzzling that the woman in his home (no children) was shown as age 30-40. Either this is not Samuel S. or there is some discrepancy regarding Jane's d.o.b.
