Subject: Josiah Ashley, Joshua Ashley from Abbeville County, SC

Found an article in a book entitled "Heritage of Abbeville County, SC",
published 1995 by Walsworth Pub. Co., which is summarized as follows:

"...Rebecca Matilda Nickles (1844-1924) was the widow of Josiah Ashley
who was killed in the Civil War.  They had a son John Ashley. "

Also found an  article about Joshua Ashley (1810 - 1899)  and Mary
Burton's (1810-1886)  daughter Eliza Ann Ashley (1847-1913) which is
summarized as follows:

"..Eliza Ann Ashley married Jesse Martin Hall....Jesse served in the
Civil War in Company G, 6th SC Cavalry.  He married Eliza after the
war, and after their marriage they moved to Anderson County, SC and
lived near Jesse's parents Lent Hall Jr. and Redempsey Keller.  After a
short time, they moved back to Abbeville County on a farm near the
Ashleys."
