McIntosh of Stirling
The family of
Norman Donald McIntosh
xxxxxx

My Grandfather, Norman was born in Edinburgh on 7 January, 1876, at 1 Kay's Court, East Crosscauseway. On his birth certificate he is Norman Donald MacKintosh and at this time the name was spelt with the Mc, the Mac or the MacK (I will use the Mc spelling unless referring to an actual document spelt differently). His father, John McIntosh, was discharged from the army in 1875 and Norman must have been born shortly before the family returned to Stirling. Norman referred to Stirling as home, so I've called us the McIntoshes of Stirling, although he lived at Dunoon for a while before coming out to New Zealand and the family remaining in Scotland are in Glasgow. Another branch of the family are in Australia.

The Clan McIntosh guest book has the most comments from McIntosh family members of any of the McIntosh pages. Genconnect have an excellent search engine for genealogical postings. If you wish to learn about the history of the 93rd Regiment, the above link is a must. The LDS database is extensive for Scotland, unfortunately, my own ancestors have proved elusive. McIntosh-L is a web site for the McIntosh list.
