ANNE MANNING ( - ) second child of JOHN MANNION and CATHERINE MASTERSON married: RICHARD GILL ( ) of Russah in the Parish of Boherquill, county Westmeath. They had two sons named WILLIAM JOSEPH (BILL JOE) and JOHN. BILL JOE GILL ( - ) was wounded during the year 1920, whilst serving in the Irish Volunteer Army during the British Black and Tan Terror in Ireland. He was killed about the year 1922, whilst serving as a Lieutenant in the Irish Free State National Army. He is buried at Boherquill Parish Cemetery. JOHN GILL (3.3.99-23.12.14) also served in the Irish Volunteer Army and in the Irish Free State National Army. He came to New York in the year 1925. On 9th September, 1928 JOHN and JOHANNA FARRELL of County Westmeath were married at St. Teresa's Church, Brooklyn. They had four children: 1) WILLIAM JOSEPH 3) RAYMOND 2) JOHN 4) IRENE WILLIAM JOSEPH (Rev.) was ordained a Priest in 1955. He is now Pastor, St. Rosalie Parish, Hampton Bay, New York. JOHN (Rev. Brother EDWIN) is now Superior General of the Franciscan Brothers, St. Francis College, Remsen Street, Brooklyn, New York. RAYMOND (Rev. Brother AUSTIN) is teaching at St. Francis College, Brooklyn, New York. IRENE (Sister ELIZABETH), Dominican Order, Amityville, New York is devoting her life to teaching. JOHN GILL is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery , Westbury, New York.
