Leon Jeans

BONO -- Leon Jeans, 77, of Bono died Tuesday, Jan. 29, at St. Bernard's Medical Center. Born at Nelsonville, he had lived at Bono for two years and was formerly of Thayer, Mo. He was a retired machine tool painter for the Rockford Machine & Tool Co. in Rockford, Ill. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a Baptist. 

Survivors include his wife, Sarah Jeans of the home; two sons, Roger Jeans of Hudson, Ill., and Danny Jeans of Poughkeepsie; two daughters, Linda Bertram of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Michelle Hall of Orange Park, Fla.; three sisters, Edith Horsman of Calico Rock, Viola Scallions of Mammoth Spring and Vergie Wells of Rockford; 10 grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Gregg Funeral Home chapel in Jonesboro, with the Rev. Mark Sadler officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery near Bono. 

Pallbearers will include Jennifer Atkins, Steve Atkins, Chris Bertram, Sarah Bertram, John Hahn and Kirsten Jeans. 

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
