LENA M. JEAN

1896 - 1996

Lena McKamie Jean, 99, of Shreveport, La. formerly of Magnolia, died Sunday, May 5, 1996, at Glen Retirement Center in Shreveport.

Born Aug 17, 1896, in Atlanta, she was the daughter of Seebe Fletcher and Fannie Elizabeth McKamie.  She was a homemaker and a member of Atlanta Methodist Church.  Mrs. Jean had lived in Bienville, La., for 11 years.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Clarence Jean, her parents, and a son, Clarence Lee Jean.

Survivors include  two daughters, Francille Jean Walker of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Elizabeth Jean Gaines of Las Vegas, Nev.; a son, J. L. Jean of Atlanta Community; a sister, Lucy Mae Wyrick of Atlanta Community; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral service will be Thursday, May 9 at 2 pm at Lewis Chapel with Rev Lowell Snow officiating.  Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home Inc. of Magnolia.

Pallbearers will be the grandchildren of the deceased.
