Last Rites For Pioneer Resident Held Here Sunday
Services were held Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock for J L Jean, 82, pioneer resident of Columbia county, who died at his home in Magnolia Saturday afternoon, Rev Roy E. Fawcett officiating.
He was a native of Georgia but had made his home in this county since he was five years old.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Minnie Dobie, Arlington, Va., Mrs. D. A. Dollarhide, Washington, D.C., Mrs. M. W. Peace, Lake Charles, La. and Miss Vera Jean of Magnolia; two sons Walker Jean of Bienville, La., and Winston Jean of Houston; one brother, Ben L. Jean, of El Dorado and 12 grandchildren.
Burial was in Magnolia cemetery.
