Jack Dorough

1906 - 1984

Jack Dorough, 77, of 25 Festiva Drive, Newnan, died February 2, 1984 at his home.

Mr. Dorough was born April 1, 1906 in Heard County, son of the late Henry and Ada Howard Dorough. Prior to moving to Newnan 16 years ago, he was a resident of Hogansville for a number of years. He was a retired merchant and a member of the Unity Baptist Church in Newnan.

Services were held February 4th in the Chapel of McKibben Funeral Home with Dr. Rudy Patton and the Rev. Monroe Driver officiating.  Interment was in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Newnan.

Pallbearers were Freeman Shelnutt, Magnan Hannah, Randy Miller, Jerry Denney, Mike Fleming and Sherman Eley.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Junior Eley Dorough of Newnan; a daughter, Mrs. Tom Wingo of Newnan; sisters, Mrs. Zelma Neill, Mrs. John Miller, Mrs. Merlin Fleming, all of Newnan, Mrs. J. D. Marchman of LaGrange; grandson, Tommy Wingo of Seymour, Tennessee; great-grandchildren, Jeremy Wingo, Jessica Wingo.
