Garland was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, a 32nd degree Mason, a 50 year member of the Myrtle Lodge No. 145, and the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry of Guthrie. He retired as a Federal Livestock Inspector with the Oklahoma City Stockyards and was approved by the American Kennel Club to judge licensed dog shows for 25 years.
He is survived by his wife, Eva of the home; brother, Arley Baker and wife, Mary Frances of Baton Rouge, LA; sister, Velma Thurman of Ft. Smith, AR; 2 sisters-in-law; 1 brother-in-law; several nephews, nieces, and friends.
Funeral services will be at the Bill Eisenhour N.E. Chapel on Tuesday, October 24, at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at the Arlington Memory Gardens, N.E. 36th and Midwest Boulevard. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to your favorite charity.
