DANVILLE — Claude Murphy Jean Sr., 70, of Belleville died Tuesday, June 15, at his home.

Born Feb. 15, 1934, in Riley Creek in Yell County to the late William Benton and Urcy Mae McBride Jean, he was a 1953 graduate of Belleville High School, a staff sergeant in the Korean conflict and Arkansas National Guard, and retired after 36 years from Wayne Farms in Danville as the maintenance supervisor. He was a cattle farmer and a member of the Yell County Cattlemen’s Association. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Boyd Jean; a sister, Estelle Jean Christy; and twin infant sisters.

Survivors include a son and a daughter-in-law, Claude Jr. and Darlene Jean of Belleville; two granddaughters, Kayle Jean and Lakin Jean, both of Belleville; and a sister, Freeda Jean Banning of Danville.

Funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Baptist Church in Havana with the Rev. Jeff Smith officiating. Burial will be in Russell Cemetery with military honors by Royce-Woods VFW Post 3141 of Dardanelle.

Honorary — Kenneth Loyd, Bill Loyd, Larry Hall, Paul Jean, Lavell Lampkin and Quinton McBride.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Cornwell Funeral Home of Danville.
