Services for Walker Clarence Jean of Atlanta will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Atlanta Methodist church, with the Rev. Howard Williams officiating. Interment in the Memorial Park Cemetery will be under the direction of the Lewis Funeral Home.
Mr. Jean died early Tuesday morning in a Haynesville, La., hospital at the age of 79. He was a native and lifetime resident of the Atlanta Community. Mr. Jean was a veteran of World War I, a retired farmer and sawmill operator, a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lena McKamie Jean; two daughters Mrs. Francille Walker of Minden, La., and Mrs. Elizabeth Gaines of Shreveport, La.; two sons, Clarence and J L Jean both of Magnolia; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Dobie of Arlington, Va.; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Mr. Jean's grandsons, Hal and Lane Jean, Allen, David and Brandon Gaines, C Jean Jr, Ronald Jean, Rollie Walker and Winston Walker will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Travis Rowe, Leon Crowley, Ray Huckaby, Roger Shepherd, Marvin Aubrey, Willie Callender, James McLendon, Tommie Fallin Jr. and Emory McKamie.
Memorials may be forwarded to the Atlanta Methodist Church, Emerson, 71740.
