He appeared on the census in 1860 in Cortland, WI. He was a quarry miner per his marriage certificate on 20 JUL 1879. He appeared on the census on 4 JUN 1880 in Glastonbury, Hartford County, CT. In the 1880 census, Jason was enumerated with his wife Julia, his daughter Sarah and his parents, Henry and Clarissia. He was a Laborer on 8 NOV 1882 in Glastonbury, Hartford County, CT. He was a Laborer on 21 APR 1885 in Glastonbury, Hartford County, CT. He resided 6 Starkweather St. between 1894 and 1898 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. He appeared on the census on 9 JAN 1920 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. In the 1920 Census, Jason D was enumerated with his wife Julia.
He died on 20 OCT 1920 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. The Death Certificate indicates that Jason D. died of progressive anemia. At the time of his death, Jason D. Chapman's occupation was that of a Paper Maker. A Paper Maker was a management position and was the person who supervised the entire paper making process in a paper mill. She appeared on the census on 4 JUN 1880 in Glastonbury, Hartford County, CT. Julia was enumerated with her husband Jason, daughter Sarah, and in-laws Henry and Clarissia. She appeared on the census on 9 JAN 1920 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. In the 1920 census, Julia was enumerated with her husband Jason D.
She signed a will on 27 MAY 1936 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. Julia's will appointed her son, Howard D. Chapman of Manchester, CT as executor of her estate and was authorized to act without bond. The will stated that all her just debts and funeral expenses were to be paid by the Executor. In addition, she bequeathed to her grandson William Howard Chapman, of the Town of Manchester, CT, $100. This was given to him for the many deeds of kindness he performed for her.

She died on 13 SEP 1942 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. The death certificate lists the immediate cause of death as Carcinoma of Pancreas due to uremia. Other conditions listed are Generalized Arterioscleroses, Senility and obstructive jaundice. At the time of her death, Julia resided at 874 Main Street, Manchester, CT. She was buried on 16 SEP 1942 in East Cemetery, Manchester, Hartford County, CT. She had an estate probated on 6 OCT 1942 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. $100 paid legacy to William H. Chapman.
$542.50 paid to heirs.
The final statement was entered on Sept 13, 1943 by Howard D. Chapman.

Mrs. Fuller believes that after Peter Caron passed away, Sarah moved back to Manchester, CT. to live with Julia.

It was subsequently discovered that the birth certificate was issued in Glastonbury, but without a name. He was a Bookkeeper on 30 MAR 1910 in New Britain, Hartford County, CT. He was a Weaver on 20 OCT 1913 in Dept. G.G., Cheney Brothers. He was a Weaver on 15 JUL 1914 in Dept. Rib.G.G, Cheney Brothers, Manchester, CT.. He was a Forman on 8 MAY 1915 in the Trim Dept, Cheney Brothers. He was a Forman on 27 SEP 1915 in Dept F 3 B, Cheney Brothers, Manchester, Hartford County, CT. He was a Moveman on 14 APR 1919 in Dept. F 2 A, Cheney Brothers. He was a Moveman on 16 JUN 1919 in Dept. F A P, Cheney Brothers. For the period ending Mar 11 1916 he is indicated as being on Special Roll. This continued until the period ending Dec 28 1918. Although hours worked are listed, no wages are listed for this period and there is no indication as to what Special Roll was.

Move man, his rate is indicated as $29; $31; $33; $36; $40 ;$36; $34 and $38.

Misc. Clerk, his rate is indicated as $38; $40; and then 76 cents.

Product Inspector, his rate is indicated a .76 cents and the $37.

Assistant Foreman, his rate is indicated as $37; $33.50; and $30.

He was a Laborer on 25 JUL 1912 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. He was a Sheet & Metal Worker on 8 JAN 1920 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. He appeared on the census on 8 JAN 1920 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. In the 1920 census Howard D. Chapman was enumerated with wife Eliza J. and son William H. He resided 168 Summit Street on 8 JAN 1920 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT. He was a Coppersmith on 11 OCT 1920 in Manchester, Hartford County, CT.
