George Thompson was my great great great grandfather.

George Thompson was born Apr 11, 1830 in England. Our first record of him is in the 1860 Census with wife Mary Butler (Buttimare). Mary dies Feb 10, 1861, one day after having a stillborn child. They had six children:

  1. Mary Anne Thompson, bn: April 7, 1853, chr: 10 Apr 1853 at St. Patrick Pro-Cathedral, Newark, NJ She marries Patrick Kennedy June 3, 1878 at St. Patrick's Pro Cathedral. She dies August 12, 1888, and is burried August 14, 1888 in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange, NJ.

  2. Margaret Thompson, bn: Aug. 3, 1854, chr: Aug. 6, 1854 at St. Patrick Pro-Cathedral, Newark, NJ

  3. Johanna Thompson, bn: April 2, 1856, chr: April 6, 1856 at St. Patrick Pro-Cathedral, Newark, NJ. She dies of Scarlet Fever, December 16, 1860, and is burried December 16, 1860 in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange, NJ.She is reburried with her mother on Feb 11, 1861, in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange, NJ.

  4. Alice Thompson, bn: Dec 18, 1857, chr: Dec 20, 1857 at St. Patrick Pro-Cathedral, Newark, NJ. She marries James John Atwell on March 3, 1886 at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Newark, NJ She dies of Pneumonia on October 27, 1892, and is burried October 29, 1892 in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange, NJ.

  5. John Henry Thompson, bn: May 8, 1859, chr: May 8, 1859 at St. Patrick Pro-Cathedral, Newark, NJ. He marries Mary Dunleavy on December 27, 1880 at St. Pius Church, Harrison, NJ He dies on June 21, 1917 in Harrison, NJ , and is burried June 23, 1917 in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Orange, NJ.

  6. Unknown Thompson, still born on February 9, 1861.

George remarries to Deborah Anne Butler (Buttimare), believed to be the sister of Mary Butler (Buttimare), on August 29, 1865 at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Newark, NJ.
They had 4 children:

  1. George W. Thompson, bn: February 23, 1866, chr: February 25, 1866 at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Newark, NJ

  2. Jane Agnes Thompson, bn: March 19, 1868, chr: March 26, 1868 at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Newark, NJ m: Theodore A. Dally, on November 11, 1891 at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kearny, NJ. They had three children:
    1. Theodore Bedford Dally bn: February 18, 1893, Harrison, NJ, d: November 19, 1966, Springfield, NJ, m: Edith Dourier Shrope on March 14, 1914 at Orange, NJ. They had three children:
      1. David Courter Dally bn: August 4, 1915 in Maplewood, NJ, d: April 29, 2000 in Readsboro, VT. Longtime resident of Berkeley Heights N.J. and served as mayor from 1964 to 1967.
      2. Mabel Isabel Dally bn: May 21, 1918, d: ?? m: Gerald Birch Jr. Demarest. They had six children:

        3. Gerald Birch III Demarest

    2. Harold E. Dally, bn: August 12, 1897 in Harrison, NJ, d: October 3, 1969 in Kearny, NJ, m: Marie E. Scott on September 20, 1921 at St. Stephen's Church, Kearny, NJ. They had the following children:
      1. Harold T. Dally, bn: September 16, 1923 in Kearny, NJ, d: April 10, 1981 in Carteret, NJ, m: Mary Nugent. They had the following children:
        1. Harold T. Dally
