Elizabeth Jane Payne was born in England, we believe, on Jan 11, 1841.

Her parents, Charles Frederick Payne and Elizabeth Hayward emmigrated from Bristol, England to Brooklyn, NY about 1849.

Elizabeth Jane Payne married Andrew Morrison about 1859. We have not found Andrew Morrison on any census records.

Elizabeth Jane Payne Morrison gave birth to Thomas Mason Morrison about Feb 1860. He marries Emma Frances Rowe on November 26, 1883 at St. Joseph's, Newark, NJ

We have not been able to find Elizabeth in the 1870 census. She is with her mother and Thomas Wentworth in 1850, 1855, 1860, and 1865 census returns.

On the 1880 census she is married to Thomas E. Higgins and living in Newark, NJ.

On June 2, 1887 she is baptized at St. Joseph's Church, Newark NJ

Elizabeth Jane Payne Morrison Higgins dies on August 21, 1926 and is buried at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, East Orange, NJ with her second husband Thomas E. Higgins, daughter Mary Ann Higgins and son-in-law George James Kennedy.

• 1870: Elizabeth's sister Mary and Mother Elizabeth Wentworth with brother Charles at 540 Court St. in Brooklyn, NY
• 1880: Elizabeth Jane Payne Morrison with second husband Thomas Higgins and their children Catherine and Mary, as well as Thomas Mason Morrison from her first marriage, whose name is improperly listed as Thomas Wentworth.
• 1900: Elizabeth Jane Payne Morrison with second husband Thomas Higgins and their daughter Mary at 427 New St., Newark, NJ.
