6. Henry C. Black, physician, b 1825 Guernsey Co., OH. Grandfather was Daniel Black native
of Ireland where he married and shortly prior to the Rev. War he came to American along
with his brother James and enlisted.
Family of Daniel: James, Joseph K. Daniel, Ralph, Margaret, Mary and Elizabeth. Shortly
after his arrival he located in VA where he remained until 1803 when with his family moved
to Guernsey Co., OH. Joseph K. the 2nd child v 1794 in VA served War 1812 m Ann Eliza
Hutchinson, dau of Joseph Hutchinson a resident of Loudoun Co., VA. Joseph K. and Ann
Eliza's children: Lucretia (Mrs. John Scott) in Iowa; Carlinda (Mrs. Josephus Pugh) also
in Iowa; Cephas N. in Cambridge, OH; Gain R. in Peoria, IL; Caroline (Mrs. George Schott
in Cambridge, OH; Henry C. in Freeport, Harrison Co.; Eliza (Mrs. Joel Linkhart) in Iowa;
Charlotte (Mrs. R. I. Taker, dec); Tayleraynd H. in MN; Mary C. (Mrs. William Scott) in
OH. Hency C. studied under Dr. S. F. Marquis. He married twice, Rebecca, McCarty and had
four children: Clelia DeFrance (Mrs. James C. Carver) and R.M., and B.H. and Ottis K. M

10. John Black of Scotch parentage, they having emigrated from Scotland to Ireland. Samuel
Black b Londonderry, Ireland abt 1734. Emigrated to American about 1744 and settled upon
the Brandywine River, NJ, where they remained a short time and then moved to Albemarle
Co., VA. Samuel m Jane Portor and had nine children - 4 sons and 5 dau.

Black b in Londonderry Ireland. His parents had been Scotch. John Black emigrated to
America about 1744 and settle on the Bradywine River, NJ then moved to Albemarle Co. VA
where Samuel was
united in marriage to Jane Porter. They had nine children and all raised large families.
