Crooked Creek Church Records


Rules of Decorum

1st It is the duty of the Church to hold conference meeting one every month.

2nd Meeting shall be opened by prayer

3rd The moderator chosen by the Church shall preside during the conference as a judge of order whose duty it shall be to take the voice of the Church on all motions that are legally brought before the body.

4th It shall be the duty of the clerk appointed by the Church to keep a fair record of all her proceedings.

5th Visiting brethren shall be invited to seats with us.

6th A door shall be opened for the reception of members

7th All business previously referred shall be called for and attended to.

8th All motions made and seconded shall be attended to by the church unless withdrawn by him who made them.

9th Any member wishing to speak shall arise and address the moderator.

10th No member shall have a right to speak more than three times on any one subject without liberty from the Church and but one shall speak at a time.

Eleventh article amended by the church

11th A majority of the members present shall rule in all cases except in those touching fellowship in which cases a unanimous voice is required but a majority shall have power to exclude a member.

12th The moderator shall have the same privilege in speaking on all matters debated as an other member provided he appoint someone to fill his seat.

13th No male member shall leave his seat during conference with leave of the moderator.

14th No member shall be allowed to bring an accusation against another without having taken the Gospel steps as found in the 18th of Mathew and other parts of the New Testament.

15th It shall be the duty of any member committing an offence of a public nature to render satisfaction to the satisfaction to the church in a public manner.

16th If any member shall violate the rules of strict decorum he may be called to order by the moderator. If he refuse to hear the Moderator he shall be called to an account by the Church.

17th Any of the above rules may be altered or amended at the discretion of the church.

18th An act of the Church the 3rd Saturday of April 18?? (cut off) all things shall be done by a motion and a second.
