Saturday before the third Sabbath in August 1845. The Crooked Creek
Church met at Brother Porters and after worship proceeded to
business.
1st invited brethren to their seats
2nd invited visiting brethren to seats with us
3rd opened a door for the reception of members and received none.
4th We agree to represent our selves in the next association and
appoint brother W. Stroud to prepare said letter and present it at our
next meeting and appoint brother Beal Gaither, John Blyeth, W.
P. Stroud to bear said letter.
5th we agree to send one dollar and fifty cents to our next
association for the purpose of printing minutes.
6th The church agrees to release Brother Stroud from his
clerkship and appoint brother Jahue Blyeth to act as Clerk.

5th letter prepared by William P. Stroud for the
association read and received.
6th Motion and second whether we will elect pastor for the Crooked
Creek Church
7th they agreed to elect
8th and elected J. E. Casey as pastor of the church
9th We agree that a petitionary letter be wrote to Mt. Gilead
and brother Casey which is elected pastor of Crooked Creek Church Beal
Gaither, and Jahue Blyeth bear said letter Closed in order

the reception of members and received Allen Bean and Mary Bean his
wife by letters also Jane Mathews by letter. Done by the order of the
members present.
