Proceedings

 

Saturday before the third Sabbath in July 1842. The Crooked Creek Church met at their meeting house and after worship proceeded to business.

1st Invited brethren of sister churches to a seat with us.

2nd Opened a door for the reception of members and received Eliza Parker? By experience. John Baughman & Dorothy Baughman, Jacob Baughman & Amanda Hamure by letter.

3rd Sister Polly Griffin requested a letter of dismission and granted. Also Bro L B Deaton & wife.

So dismist in order. Beal Gaither, Ch Clk

Sunday received William Evans by experience and Rebecca Coal by recommendation.

1st Invited Brethren of sister churches to seat with us.

2nd Opened the door for the reception of members and received Thomas Waldron (or Waldrouss) By letter.

3rd Appointed Beal Gaither to prepare a letter to the Association and present it to our next meeting for inspection and appointed Brethren G W Baines, D Nichols, W P Stroud to bear said letter and in case of failure B Gaither to supply.

4th The church agree to send two dollars contribution to the association.

1st Invited Brethren of sister churches to a seat with us.

2nd Appointed Brother Nichols Moderator protem.

3rd Opened a door for reception of members and received none.

4th References called for took up letter to the association red and received.

5th The Church authorized their delegates to approve the printing the minutes of the association for the future.

6th The Church appoint a committee to settle with the treasurer consisting of Baughman, Hardin, and Huff.

7th Committee reported that the remains of the treasury seven and a half cents
