Saturday before the third Sabbath in August 1841
The church met and after worship proceeded to business
1st invited brethren of sister churches to a seat with us
2nd opened a door for reception of members and received none
3rd the church appointed brother Gaither to prepare a
letter to the association and present it to our next meeting for inspection and
apoint brethren Baines, Nichols and Gaither to bear said letter
and in case of failure brother Hurst.
4th the church agreed to send to the association 2 dollars as
contribution to assist in printing there minutes
5th Resolved that the whole church be appointed to a committee to
attend with brother Baines at his different places of preaching within
his bounds of traveling to set and hold conference for the purpose of receiving
members and whatever member may attend at any one place be clothed within this
or charity and resolved that a fair record of all such meetings be kept and
entered upon the church book. Appointed a committee of three viz brethren Nichols,
Hurst and Baines to settle with the treasurer and report at the
next meeting.
Appointed brother Hardin and Gage to bear our epostle of love
and request to Mount Pleasant Church our request for her ministerial asst at our
next communion meeting which is to commence on Friday before the third Sabbath
