Saturday before the third Sunday in August 1840
The United Baptist met on Crooked Creek and after worship
proceeded to business
1st invited brethren to sister churches to seats with us.
2nd Opened door for the reception of members and received Sintha
Shirly, Martha Shearly, Marthy Brumbellow, and Hiram Blevins,
All by experience
3rd The church agreed to send a letter to the association and
appoint the following brethren bear said letter E. C. Simmons, G. W. Baines,
and Beal Gaither and in case of failure brother David Nichols to
supply
4th Appointed brother B. Gaither to prepare a letter for
examination of the church and present to our next meeting
5th brother John Warner applied for a letter of dismission
and granted
6th The church agreed to hold a church meeting on the fourth
Saturday of this and appointed the following brethren George W. Baines, E.C.
Simmons, David Nichols, Leonard huff, A. M. Hill, Ashir Harden, John B. Keith,
to attend said meeting at John Hurst in Marion Co so dismissed in
order

Saturday before the fourth Sabbath in August 1840
In pursuance of a resolution passed at the last meeting of the Crooked
Creek Church held Saturday before the third Sabbath August 1840. The
brethren appointed to hold a meeting at the house of Brother John Hurst
near Yellville. Met and after devine service opened door to receive
members and received the following by letter viz: John Churchman, Frances
Churchman, Tipton Denton, Sarah Denton, William Freeman, Sarah Freeman and Drucilla
Brisman
Adjourned in order. Bro Baines Mod and A M Hill Clerk Protem

Bro John Hudson states that he has lost his letter but wished to join
the church and satisfactory information being obtained was received.

Friday before the fourth Sabbath in September 1840, the committee met
at Abraham Wood and after devine service . Opened a door and received by
letter Anna Beshers and Abraham Wood. By experience Susanna
Everett. Adjourned in order. E C Simmons, Mod. John B Hudson,
