Proceedings

Saturday before the third Sabbath in May 1839 (note: I believe this belongs after this entry and before Saturday the church sat in conference)

2nd Opened a door for receiving members.

3rd Took up the references relative to brethren Coffield and laid it over until next meeting and appointed brethren Steven Keith, Leonard Huff, Alvin Parker and Beal Gaither to visit him and request him to attend our next meeting.

4th The Church agreed to attend to feet washing on the Sabbath.

Conference adjourned in order.

1st Invited visiting brethren to seats

2nd Opened a door to receive members and received Brother Samuel Wheat by letter.

Conference closed in order.

Saturday before the third Sabbath in June 1839.

After devine service the church met in conference.

1st Invited visiting brethren to seats with us.

2nd Opened a door to receive members.

3rd Called for references and took the case of Brother Coffield under consideration and voted it out in order.

4th The Brethren on Crooked Creek agreed to meet at Big Creek and assist the Brethren there in constituting a Church the brethren to go were the following Samuel Wheat, Stephen Keith, J B Keith, Leonard Huff, Ashir Harden, John H Marshal, William Daniel, Guin Porter, Beal Gaither and Alvin Parker.

5th Granted Brother and Sister Bristow a letter of dismission.

6th Granted Brother Wheat the privilege of recording his credentials in our church Book.

7th Granted the Brethren on Big Creek the privilege of receiving members on Behalf of this church.

Conference closed in order.
