Proceedings

Saturday before the third Sabbath in October 1838

After Devine Service the Church sat in conference. Brother Baines moderator.

1st Invited visiting brethren to seats with us.

2nd Opened a door for the reception of members.

3rd Called for references.

4th Inquired for general business.

5th Granted brother Baines the privilege of opening a door to receive members at the house of Wm Moore on Crooked Creek.

6th Agreed to hold our next meeting on the Second Sabbath and Saturday before in November.

On motion the minutes were read and conference closed in order.

Saturday before the third Lords day in April 1839

After Devine Service the church sat in conference.

1st Invited visiting brethren to seats with us.

2nd Opened a door to receive members.

3rd Called for references

4th Took up the case of brother Coffield and laid it over until next meeting. Also appointed a committee of brother Gaither, Huff and S. Keith to converse with him.

5th Received a petition from Big Creek for help to constitute a church which help was granted and brother Huff appointed to go with the former appointed help.

6th Granted Brother W. B. Keith a letter of dismission.

Conference closed in order.
