TRAIL TO CLOUD BAY IS BROKEN
H.F. Goodfellow Takes Party of Pulpmen in
First Car Which Has Gone Into District This Year
Another automobile trail in this district was broken yesterday for the first time this year when H.F. Goodfellow conveyed a party of pulpmen in his taxi-car to Cloud Bay, a distance of 33 miles from the city. The trip was made here south along the Scott Highway for 31 miles and then two miles to Cloud Bay. The first fifteen miles along Scott Highway, Mr. Goodfellow reports, is quite passable, but owing to melting ice and snow, a little difficulty was experienced during the remainder of the journey. Indications all point to the main highway and roads in the district being in excellent condition within a very short time for all kinds of automobile traffic.
Richard Garrett came to this district in 1921 and served as councillor for many years in Crooks township
Jack Randle came to the Lakehead district in 1907 from Bruce Co., Ont Employed in the Cloud Bay region in the bush trade becoming a timber contractor.
