Lathrop Cemetery

Abandoned cemetery in Woodward County, OK
Location: R 20W T24N

Directions given from 9th St and Oklahoma Ave, Woodward. North Hwy 34 for 10 miles, then west 5 miles, north 3/10 mile on west side of road

This cemetery is located on private property.   It is fenced on all four sides, with no apparent access to it except crawling through the barbed wire. The last listed burial is that of Ezra Fishbaugh in 1932. Sixteen people are listed as being buried here. This listing is from the Northwest Oklahoma Genealogical Society records from a canvas done in the early 1980's.  In August 2002, an attempt to photograph the headstones was not very successful.  The entire cemetery is overgrown with tall weeds.  Only a few of the stones could be found.  Two of the graves had flowers on them, possibly from last Memorial Day.  One small marker only has the initials G. W. S. Mystery has been solved. G. W. S. is Gottfried Staub. He was buried on 01 Jan 1920. This information was provided by a family member.
