The French Connection

The information on the following pages has been providing to me by a wonderful and special family, Mr. And Mrs. Jean Louis Guichard, of Autrey les Gray, France. He knew of my interest in the Autrey history, and generously personally translated the information for me. Mr. Guichard has done a wonderful job, especially since he is learning English, as is the rest of the family.

I shall be forever in his debt for taking the time to extract the information, translate the material and share it to me to share with you..

I hope to share on the following pages information I have received from Mr. Guichard as well as other information, pictures and other materials I hope you will find interesting.

While I was very curious about the beginning Autrey families, it is impossible at this time to connect any particular family as being descendants from any of these families or locations. It is of historical importance, just as there is so much more to be discovered and published. It is impossible to say what the "original spelling of the Autrey name was and how it changed, it is a hotly debated subject. Knowing the original spelling and the original place of the original person is not as important as finding our families and creating bonds and renewing family ties with each other.

I hope you will enjoy the information provided here. Please  let me know if you can have anything you would like to share in this section. Like the old television show, "there are a million stories, this is just one".
