George Awtrey to Bennett OldhamGEORGE AWTREY 1805 TO BENNETT OLDHAM 17 DECEMBER 1846 St. Clair County, Alabama Deed Book C, Page 29 This Indenture made and entered into this the 17th day of December one thousand eight hundred and forty six between George Awtrey and Mary Awtrey, his wife, of the first part and Bennett Oldham of the second part all of the State and County aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said George Awtrey and Mary Awtrey, his wife, hath given, granted, bargained, sold and delivered unto the said Bennett Oldham a certain tract of land lying and being in the State and County aforesaid it is being the East half of the Southwest quarter, the line on the East side to commence at the corner and to run North of West some 70 or 80 yards and on the present crossfence and corner at the bend of the Creek at a certain marked beech tree of Section eight. Township fourteen, Range five East, containing 40 acres more or less in the District of Lands Subject to Sale at Huntsville, Alabama in and for the consideration of the sum of one hundred dollars to them paid at and before signing, sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt is hereby acknowledged and the said George Autrey and Mary, his wife, doth for themselves their heirs, executors, administrators and assigns forever warrant and defend all right, title and interest in the above described land and premises unto the said Bennett Oldham, him, his heirs forever. In testament whereof they have hereunto set their hands and affixed their seals the day and year above written.
